CluStrat - Boosting Innovation through new Cluster Concepts in support of emerging Issues and cross-sectoral Themes

From October 2011 onwards, The CluStrat project and its EU network of partners worked intensively on developing a joint strategy on how to enhance the innovation capacity and competitiveness of clusters in the Central Europe area. All 18 partners and 7 associated institutions from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Ukraine joined forces to explore suitable and effective cluster concepts and supporting policy measures. The result are 8 pilot actions and policy recommendations on new cluster concept, that will both contribute to the national and regional cooperation.

Slovenian IT Excellence

13 companies exhibited at this year's CeBIT fair in Hannover in April. The presentation was organized by the public agency SPIRIT. The companies present at the fair were a good example of Slovenia's growing and dynamic IT industry which focuses mainly on narrowly specialized and innovative software.

Tomaž Klemenc Appointed Acting Director of the SPIRIT Slovenia Public Agency

At its 53rd regular session on 3 April 2014, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia appointed Tomaž Klemenc Acting Director of the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Development, Investment and Tourism (SPIRIT Slovenia) to hold office until the appointment of a Director, but for no longer than six months.

Slovenia tops two prestigious travel guide lists

"Slovenija, od kod lepote tvoje" (Slovenia, from whence thy beauty) goes the popular song by the Avsenik Brothers Ensemble from 1974. But Slovenian natural and cultural attractions, the friendly people and the unique cuisine are not only sung about. On several occasions, Slovenia has appeared on lists featuring the most interesting destinations in the world. This time it was included on two reputable travel guide lists.
